Terms of Service

1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using iShop4You ("the Platform"), operated by Akilidex Ltd ("we", "us"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.

These terms apply to all users: customers, personal shoppers, delivery riders, and administrators.

2. The Service

iShop4You is a marketplace platform that connects:

  • Customers who want fresh ingredients and provisions from Ghanaian markets
  • Personal Shoppers who physically go to markets and buy items on behalf of customers
  • Delivery Riders who transport purchased items from the market to the customer's address

We are a technology platform — we do not own or operate any market, and we are not the seller of any goods. Shoppers are independent contractors, not our employees.

3. Account Registration

  • You must be at least 18 years old to create an account
  • You must provide accurate and complete information (name, phone number, email)
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials
  • You must not share your account with others or create multiple accounts
  • We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms

4. How Orders Work

Budget-Based Shopping:

Unlike traditional e-commerce, iShop4You uses a budget-based model. You allocate a budget (in GHS) for each item. Your shopper buys the best value within your budget at the market. Actual prices may vary from estimates because market prices fluctuate daily.

Fees:

  • Personal Shopper Fee: A percentage of your order subtotal (6-10% depending on order size)
  • Delivery Fee: Based on distance from the nearest market to your address
  • No hidden fees: The total shown at checkout is what you pay

Payment Methods:

  • Pay Now: Mobile Money (MTN, Vodafone, AirtelTigo) or debit/credit card via Paystack
  • Cash on Delivery (COD): Pay the rider in cash when your order arrives (subject to order value limits)

Cancellations:

  • You may cancel an order before the shopper arrives at the market (status: PLACED or ASSIGNED)
  • Once the shopper is at the market (AT_MARKET or beyond), cancellation is not possible
  • Refunds for cancelled Pay Now orders are processed within 5-7 business days

5. Item Availability & Substitutions

  • Market availability changes daily. Items you order may not always be available.
  • If an item is unavailable, your shopper may suggest a substitute. You will be notified.
  • You are only charged for items actually purchased, not unavailable items.
  • The actual total may differ from the estimated total based on real market prices.

6. Delivery

  • Delivery times are estimates, not guarantees. Traffic, weather, and market conditions affect timing.
  • You must provide an accurate delivery address with landmarks for easy identification.
  • Someone must be available to receive the delivery at the specified address.
  • If delivery cannot be completed due to incorrect address or no one available, the order may be cancelled.
  • For COD orders, have the exact amount ready. Riders may not carry change.

7. Refunds

  • Refunds are issued for cancelled orders (before AT_MARKET status) paid via Pay Now
  • Refunds for quality issues are handled case-by-case — contact support with photos
  • Refund processing takes 5-7 business days to reflect in your account
  • COD orders that are cancelled before delivery do not require a refund (no payment was made)

8. For Shoppers & Riders

  • Shoppers and riders are independent contractors, not employees of iShop4You
  • You must complete an application and be approved before accepting orders/deliveries
  • You must provide accurate pricing when marking items as bought
  • Earnings are tracked in your wallet and can be withdrawn to your MoMo account
  • Fraudulent activity (fake prices, fake deliveries) will result in immediate account termination
  • You must maintain a professional standard of service — ratings below 3.0 may result in deactivation

9. Prohibited Conduct

You must not:

  • Use the platform for any illegal purpose
  • Provide false information or impersonate another person
  • Attempt to manipulate prices, ratings, or referral systems
  • Harass, threaten, or abuse other users (customers, shoppers, or riders)
  • Use automated tools to scrape data or place orders
  • Circumvent security measures or attempt unauthorized access
  • Claim false payment confirmations or submit fake MoMo alerts
  • Create multiple accounts to abuse referral credits

10. Intellectual Property

The iShop4You name, logo, design, and software are owned by Akilidex Ltd. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the platform without written permission.

11. Limitation of Liability

  • We are a technology platform connecting buyers with shoppers. We do not guarantee the quality, freshness, or safety of market goods.
  • We are not liable for delays caused by traffic, weather, market closures, or other factors beyond our control.
  • Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid for the specific order in question.
  • We are not liable for losses resulting from unauthorized access to your account if you failed to secure your credentials.

12. Dispute Resolution

If you have a dispute with us:

  1. First, contact our support team at support@akilidex.com
  2. We will attempt to resolve the issue within 14 days
  3. If unresolved, disputes shall be settled by arbitration under Ghanaian law in Accra

13. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ghana. Any legal proceedings shall be conducted in the courts of Accra, Greater Accra Region.

14. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or in-app notification at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
